The tower and chancel date from the 15th century. In 1859 the nave was restored and the chancel and south porch rebuilt by Baillie & Co.Unusually for a Hertfordshire church, there are brick columns and arches inside, with capitals made of shaped brickwork.The brass to John Gylle, d.1546We found particularly interesting the eight flemish panels (probably from the 16th century) in two windows depicting the Passion of Christ, and we made a whole page dedicated to them.
